The lawsuit is seeking damages in excess of $15,000 and alleges negligence against the teenager and his parents, who owned the SUV the teen was driving. The lawsuit seems to fly in the face of the criminal proceedings as it alleges the parents are liable for knowing their son was driving the SUV. The teen was charged with stealing the car by prosecutors.

FLORIDA PERSONAL INJURY BLOG: Investigators Still Searching For Who Is To Blame In Disney Monorail Accident

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is still working its way through documents in Lake Buena Vista, FL trying to determine what caused the monorail accident at Walt Disney World that took the life of 21-year-old Austin Wuennenberg. While that investigation is ongoing, officials did release the autopsy report on the monorail pilot late last week. (read more)
Wuennenberg died of blunt force trauma to the head and chest. Injuries to his spleen also played a role in his untimely passing. Orange County Sheriff’s investigators have gone on the record saying that the driver of the monorail that crashed with Wuennenberg’s was not at fault. They said that the error could have been caused by a computer or an operator who flipped a switch to put both trains on the same track. The NTSB has said that Disney has cooperated with all their requests for documents. Wuennenberg’s family filed paperwork in Orange County Courts last month looking to block Disney World from getting rid of any of the evidence in the case as there may be a potential personal injury lawsuit in the future.
