While the investigation into the death of 21-year-old monorail pilot Austin Wuennenberg continues, another employee at Walt Disney World in Orlando has died due to an injury suffered while on the job. Mark Priest, a 47-year-old performer at the Orlando theme park was seriously hurt during a “pirate tutorial” performance at the Magic Kingdom. (read more)
Priest was sword-fighting in the show inspired by Captain Jack Sparrow and the popular Pirates of the Caribbean movies when he slipped and hit his head on a wall. Priest’s condition did not seem serious as he was improving in the hospital following the fall. On Monday his condition worsened and rapidly deteriorated. He passed away Tuesday.
